James Sorrels received a B.A. in Economics, with Distinction, from Washington State University in 1969. He was awarded a National Honor Scholarship to the University of Chicago Law School, where he received his J.D. in 1972. After serving as a staff attorney with the Federal Trade Commission and later as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for King County, he entered private practice emphasizing trial work. Beginning in the early 1980’s, James turned his focus to compensation claims, and since the mid-1980’s his practice has been limited to claims for compensation and insurance disputes. Working primarily in the Superior Courts of King and Snohomish Counties, he has handled nearly 1,000 injury claims and taken many such cases through arbitrations and courtroom trials.
James Sorrels is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and an “Eagle” member of the Washington State Association for Justice. He has been involved in numerous civic and volunteer activities over the years.
